Support areas

I support clients to learn and practice skills and activities involved in daily living, and support with social and community participation.

Around the house this might include supporting clients with:

  • Meal planning/preparation and cooking

  • Cleaning, tidying and sorting

  • Planning, organising and list-writing (e.g. for tasks to be completed or shopping)

  • Laundry

  • Hobbies, arts and crafts

  • Personal grooming and care

  • Technology use (e.g. setting up new phone or appliance and learning how to use it)

  • Life admin skills, e.g. learning how to use and manage calendars, alarm clocks and timers

  • Paying bills

  • Booking appointments

  • Support to remember medication

Outside the house this might include supporting clients with:

  • Engaging with work and volunteering

  • Using public transport

  • Using services at a post office or bank

  • Attending appointments

  • Accessing library services

  • Shopping (e.g. groceries, pharmacy, clothing etc.)

  • Money handling

  • Conversation and engagement

  • Sports and outdoor leisure activities (e.g. ball sports, aerobie, daily exercises, walks)

  • Attending gyms and aquatic centres
